There are some guidelines for you to abide by to obtain optimal results like if light food is served then you ought to have light beer to go with it. If rich food is served then you require a strong beer to complement it. This is the thumb rule that you must adhere to when you first start to put together beer and food pairings.

The following is a list showing the different foods and the kind of beer that goes well with them:

  • Roast leg-of-lamb with Scottish ale
  • Roast chicken with Dunkel lager
  • Roast beef in gravy with Scottish ale
  • Roast beef with British-style pale ale
  • Chicken Kiev with Bohemian pilsner
  • Smoked salmon with Dry stout

Your taste buds will be smarting from the highly seasoned foods. Just about any one of the light lagers or light ales or will do great. When choosing a beer and food pairing it is sensible to first select the food to be served and then settle on which beer you think would go well with the meal.
